Advertised Compensation: $99,900.00 to $121,100.00
Purpose: The Senior Manager of PMO ensures portfolio and project management across the organization through resource allocation, budget management, and governance oversight.
Essential Functions:
- Manages CAPEX resource loading and budget allocation across the project portfolio, ensuring accurate forecasting, tracking, and reporting of capital expenditures aligned with organizational financial planning cycles
- Oversees portfolio and project management (PPM) system administration, maintaining data integrity, accurate project tracking, and effective utilization of PPM tools and reporting capabilities
- Develops and maintains project intake and governance processes, including business case evaluation, project prioritization, and approval workflows
- Provides portfolio-level reporting and analytics to leadership on project health, resource utilization, budget performance, pipeline forecasting, and portfolio capacity
- Leads resource capacity planning and allocation across the project portfolio, identifying conflicts, optimizing utilization, and coordinating cross-functional staffing with business leaders
- Conducts financial analysis including budget vs. actual variance reporting, run-rate projections, and ROI tracking; partners with Finance on accurate capital planning, project cost tracking, capitalization compliance, and alignment between project budgets and financial systems
- Maintains PMO standards, methodologies, templates, and best practices for consistent project execution
- Provides oversight and coaching to project managers on project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and PPM system utilization
- Drives continuous improvement of PMO processes, tools, and reporting capabilities through feedback analysis, benchmarking, and implementation of industry best practices
Reporting Relationship: The Senior Manager of PMO reports to the Senior Director Enterprise PMO
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:
- Education and Experience: The combination of education and professional experience must exceed 6 years:
- In a technical role: Requires minimum of 6 years of experience engaged in PMO operations or portfolio management
- A bachelor’s degree in a program related to the functional area can count for 3 of the six-year requirement
- In the industry: 3-5 years of Hospitality, F&B and/or Retail experience
- Specialized Training:
- Training that leads to a strong understanding of project management methodologies, best practices, and industry standards
- Specialized Skillset/Competencies/Traits:
- Demonstrated experience in CAPEX budgeting, financial planning, and resource management
- Advanced proficiency in PPM software and tools, as well as Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
- Ability to drive results through collaboration rather than direct control
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects and prioritizing resources across competing initiatives; strong organizational skills with keen eye for detail
- Ability to quickly understand existing processes, relationships, and organizational dynamics
- Proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project and organizational risks
- Systematic approach to documenting processes, decisions, and lessons learned for future reference
- Business acumen and also has the mindset required to understand the long-term implications of PMO planning and to advance the organization’s goals
- Demonstrated history of understanding the needs of the business, stakeholders, the employee population and individual circumstances
- Demonstrated history of creating and maintaining positive work environments through coaching, developing, and leading teams to achieve common goals
