Advertised Compensation: $86,000.00 to $98,000.00
Purpose: The Manager of Sales Audit is responsible for the management of associates and processes of the Sales Audit department on a day-to-day basis; this includes period close activities, compliance with company standards, department standards, and policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Oversees the daily operations, processes, and period close activities of the Sales Audit department; ensures that deadlines are met
- Reviews and approves journal entries prepared by staff; records entries as needed
- Validates and coordinates accounting transaction processes and ensures that all activities post to the general ledger accurately
- Conducts testing related to software upgrades, installation, and related activities for the Sales Audit department
- Assists with reviewing and revising department policies and procedures to improve efficiencies and controls
- Assesses existing processes, identifies any deficiencies, and proposes business process improvements as appropriate
- Prepares, reviews, and analyzes reports; participates in project teams as needed
Reporting Relationship: The Manager, Sales Audit reports to the Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting and Sales Audit
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:
- Education and Experience: The combination of education and professional experience must exceed 5 years:
- In a leadership role: Requires 2 years of experience supervising a team of finance professionals engaged in executing accounts receivable/sales audit programs
- In a technical role: Requires 5 years of finance experience engaged in developing and delivering accounts receivable/sales audit programs
- A bachelor’s degree in a program related to the functional area can count for 2 of the 5-year requirement
- In the industry: 3-5 years of Hospitality, F&B and/or Retail experience
- Specialized Skillset/Competencies/Traits:
- Demonstrated accounting experience with responsibility for general ledger, cost management, financial analysis, and reporting
- General ledger accounting experience utilizing SAP software
- Advanced level of Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Extensive knowledge of SAP and PeopleSoft, My Micros and the Credit Card Acquirer environment
- Proven strength in written and oral communication
- Business acumen and the mindset required to understand the long-term implications of AR planning and impact on advancing organization goals
- Demonstrated history of understanding the needs of the business, stakeholders, the employee population and individual circumstances
- Demonstrated history of creating and maintaining positive work environments through coaching, developing, and leading teams to achieve common goals
- Location: This position is based at the North America Support Center in Bethesda, MD
