The Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the General Manager in leading daily operations of the Chick-fil-A restaurant located inside the Charleston International Airport. This role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, maintaining Chick-fil-A’s high standards of hospitality, driving financial performance, and fostering a positive, service-driven culture aligned with Chick-fil-A’s core values.

This leadership position is ideal for an experienced restaurant manager who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and is passionate about developing people and delivering exceptional service.

 

Salary Range: $57,900 - $68,000 plus quarterly bonus opportunities!

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure flawless execution of opening and closing procedures.
  • Lead by example to deliver Chick-fil-A’s signature hospitality.
  • Support Shift Leaders and hold them accountable to operational checklists, food safety procedures, and brand standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with Chick-fil-A and airport requirements.
  • Ensure speed-of-service, food quality, and hospitality standards are met consistently.
  • Assist in workforce planning, scheduling, and daily staffing coverage.
  • Interview, hire, train, coach, and discipline team members as needed.
  • Foster a team climate that reflects Chick-fil-A’s values of hospitality, respect, integrity, and servant leadership.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion; promote recognition initiatives.
  • Support full P&L oversight alongside the General Manager.
  • Analyze financial and labor reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Minimize waste, control inventory, and ensure accurate ordering and receiving.
  • Coordinate with vendors and ensure equipment is maintained and operational.
  • Resolve complex guest and associate concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety standards.
  • Maintain airport, landlord, and contractual requirements including lease obligations.
  • Utilize and train staff on restaurant management systems including POS, scheduling platforms, and inventory tools.

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of restaurant management experience required (QSR, fast casual, or full service).
  • Airport food & beverage experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management platforms, and scheduling tools.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, labor control, food cost management, and KPIs.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and operational compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
