The Role:
As Assistant General Manager, you'll be responsible for managing the stores within a terminal consistent with the short- and long-term interests of the company, its employees and its customers and ensuring the highest-level customer service possible. You'll assist with leading a team of 165 employees, shaping the customer experience and driving results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the provision of the highest level of customer service possible, promoting quality customer service among staff
- Hire people who are passionate about products, maintain employee morale by recognizing outstanding performance & service by motivating and developing staff
- Review company processes and policies have been communicated and executed
- Collaborate with the General Manager and VP, Operations to set financial and inventory goals
- Analyze sales by category & brand, compared to sales & budget
- Lead team meetings, covering key areas like sales, promotions, and HR updates
- Develop and implement action plans based on results from team meetings
- Manage staffing and scheduling to ensure top-tier customer service
- Drive employee engagement and support training initiatives
- Oversee P&L, budgeting, and cost control efforts to maximize profit
- Manage marketing strategy, working with the General Manager and Management team
- Ensures our stores are following all Airport, Provincial and Federal laws/regulations
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Commercial, and Marketing teams to execute and oversee commercial strategies & plans
- Lead new store openings in partnership with the General Manager & VP, establishing operational success
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 5+ years of retail management experience or equivalent leadership role in a high-volume, multi-unit retail environment
- Retail Knowledge: Previous experience working with luxury brands and a strong understanding of the travel retail sector
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to build effective teams and motivate employees
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills to identify challenges and implement solutions
- Financial Acumen: Ability to manage profit goals, location expenses, spend per pax & sales targets
