Purpose: The Manager of Pricing & Compliance is responsible for developing critical relationships in the New York City market to properly execute the standards set in the comprehensive pricing policy and ensure compliance.
Essential Functions:
- Leads all pricing-related activities for F&B, Duty Paid, and Duty Free to ensure compliance; maintains a clear understanding of the NY Port Authority pricing policy
- Serves as a liaison between Operations, Revenue Optimization, Port Authority, and each of the landlords in all NY airports to ensure optimal communication, compliance, and overall adherence to the pricing policy while addressing any issues timely
- Builds and maintains strong partnerships with the Port Authority, terminal landlords, F&B Directors of Operations, Duty Paid General Managers, and senior Operations leadership
- Regularly submits pricing submissions/audits to landlords on behalf of local operations; corresponds with landlords regarding pricing submissions/audits or the centralized pricing process
- Works with the Commercial, Operations, Adult Beverage, Marketing, and other teams to incorporate the NY pricing guidelines into product and promotion launches
- Actively participates in the comp gathering efforts needed to optimize pricing while complying with the requirements set forth in the policy
- Assists in maintaining the product hierarchy used for pricing and sales mix analysis to include maintaining all product dimensions and attributes necessary to facilitate the pricing process, sales mix analyses and related revenue KPIs (Average Transaction Value) for assigned categories, concepts or business units
- Participates in the implementation or execution of Revenue Optimization projects to improve revenue, related KPIs and the pricing and menu optimization processes for assigned categories, concepts or business units
- Presents results of projects assigned and other analysis as required to departmental leadership or alongside departmental leadership to internal/external stakeholders
Reporting Relationship: The Manager, Pricing & Compliance reports into the Senior Director, Revenue Optimization
Major Interdependencies: Business Analytics, Operations Performance, Operations, Finance, Commercial, Systems, Business Development, Concept Development, Culinary, Supply Chain
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:
- Education and Experience: The combination of education and professional experience must exceed 5 years:
- In a leadership role: Preferably has 2 years of experience leading a team of professionals engaged in developing and executing revenue optimization programs
- In a technical role: Requires 5 years of experience engaged in developing and delivering revenue optimization programs
- A bachelor’s degree in a program related to the functional area can count for 3 of the five-year requirement
- In the industry: 3-5 years of Hospitality, F&B and/or Retail experience
- Specialized Training:
- Training that leads to an in-depth understanding of revenue optimization and business analysis
- Training that leads to a detailed knowledge of restaurants and retail pricing practices, menu/assortment selection process, related KPIs and KPI improvement methods
- Specialized Skillset/Competencies/Traits
- Business acumen and also has the mindset required to understand the long-term implications of revenue optimization planning and to advance the organizations’ goals
- Demonstrated history of understanding the needs of the business, stakeholders, the employee population and individual circumstances
- Demonstrated history of creating and maintaining positive work environments through coaching, developing, and leading teams to achieve common goals
- Location: This position must reside in the NYC area; requires regular attendance at the NYC Airports (primarily JFK)
