Shop Manager

Job outline

In charge of the general management and the commercial activities of the Dufry shops, and accountable for the retail standards within the area to maximize profitable sales and manage local relationships.

Requirements:

Key Accountabilities

Operations

§Responsible for managing the shops aboard a cruise ship, consistent with the short and long term interests of the company, its employees and its customer and ensuring the highest level of customer service possible
§Analyze the KPI’s if any issue in the shop might be affecting the daily sales, and take corrective actions if needed
§Organize and lead the Daily Meeting with the team, including all the relevant events of the week (sales, promotions, categories, brands, HR, etc.)
§Review Sales targets by shop, category and brand, compared to the previous week, month, year and budget
§Lead the full cruise line retail team
§Control the cost and take actions if needed
§Cultivate an excellent relationship with the on board Cruise line management

People

§Ensure that there is a positive and good work ethos in all shops
§Oversee and evaluate the welfare of the staff during both professional and personal time, while on board and off board..
§Identify and implement necessary trainings within the shops
§Responsible for matching of staffing to the customer flow (Shift Planning) and review staff performance and track FTE by department
§Execute performance evaluations and goal assessments
§Responsible for compliance and procedures of Maritime Labor Convention 2006.
§Lead the Training duties of Dufry Programmes
§Identify Talent within the Team

Finance

§Responsible for achieving sales and margin targets
§Inventory control, fully accountable for shrinkage
§Responsible for accurate reporting of each voyage sales performance

Customer service

§Promote Dufry as a brand aboard the cruise ship and ensure that a high standard of customer service is implemented
§Ensure full customer service satisfaction for both Dufry and Cruise line management standards.

Required: Duty free/retail experience with at least 2 years at management level. Knowledge of the Retail or Consumer goods industry
